Awful Grace Namaste Eco Farm is an income generation program for the released prisoners difficult to reintegrate into a family and a society. Some prisoners cannot go to their houses due to hatred from the family members and society. They need shelter house before they start to earn income. The farm provides ample opportunity to learn skills and methods to earn money. They get a chance to learn poultry farming, goat keeping, cow keeping and vegetable production. They earn money by selling chicken, ducks, goats, milk and vegetables. After a few years, when they are able to start the goat business, they will be reintegrated into their society.
The program is started in the Chitwan farming area. Three released prisoners are living in that area. They are learning poultry, goat and cow raising. There are 9 cows, 9 goats and 750 chicken and ducks caring through this program. We have purchased Feed pellet machine to prepare animal feed in our farm. This helps to manage feed from the organization. We have also broadcasted wheat in winter season. We are able to harvest good rice crop in this season. The children of Peace Loving Children Homes of Gothatar and Pokhara are consuming that harvested rice which helps us to reduce cost of the children homes.
Awful Grace Namaste Eco Farm is now ready for agriculture training center with all training facilities. The organization is planning to start agriculture training for released prisoners, their family members and community people. The training helps them to build up self-confidence to start up agricultural business.
